Do VPNs affect RB2B's ability to identify users?
Updated over a week ago

VPNs and proxies can significantly impact the accuracy of customer profiles by obscuring a user's actual location. This makes it challenging for RB2B to verify if a user is in the United States during their site visit, which is a crucial step in the identification process. If RB2B can't determine if the user is in the United States, it does not proceed with identification. However, it's important to note that corporate VPN usage typically does not hinder RB2B's identification processes as much as consumer VPNs do.

When a user employs a VPN or proxy, it can lead to the creation of duplicate profiles, where the same user is mistakenly identified as a new visitor instead of a repeat visitor. RB2B has recognized this issue as a primary source of erroneous records and is working on measures to reduce the occurrence of such duplicates.
