Troubleshooting: HubSpot CRM

Updated over 2 weeks ago

RB2B encountered an error when syncing Contacts' linkedin_personal_url property.

By default, RB2B creates a field called LinkedIn Personal URL to pass the visitor's LinkedIn URL to but sometimes HubSpot accounts are configured in such a way that they prevent its creation or they delete it afterwards. If you're not receiving the LinkedIn Personal URL values for contacts in your HubSpot CRM via RB2B, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Add a "LinkedIn Personal URL" Property

In your HubSpot account:

  1. Navigate to Settings.

  2. Go to Properties under Data Management.

  3. Select Contact Properties from the dropdown list.

  4. Click Create Property.

  5. Name the new property "LinkedIn Personal URL" and set its field type to be "Text".

  6. Click Save.

Step 2: Re-authenticate Your HubSpot Integration

After updating your picklist and confirming the property name, you’ll need to refresh your integration to apply these changes:

  1. Log in to your RB2B dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the HubSpot CRM integration.

  3. Click Disconnect to completely disconnect the integration.

  4. After ensuring the disconnection, click Connect to reinitialize the integration.

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to authorize and finalize the connection.

RB2B encountered an error when syncing Contacts' industry property.

If you're not receiving Industry values for contacts in your HubSpot CRM via RB2B, follow the steps below to resolve the issue. These steps ensure that your CRM is correctly set up to receive and map industry data provided by RB2B.

Step 1: Update Your Industry Picklist in HubSpot

RB2B sends Industry data based on a standardized list of categories. To receive this data correctly, your Industry field in HubSpot must include all the expected values.

Industries

  • Automotive

  • Construction

  • Creative Arts and Entertainment

  • Education

  • Energy

  • Finance and Banking

  • Food and Beverage

  • Government and Public Administration

  • Health and Pharmaceuticals

  • Information Technology

  • Manufacturing

  • Marketing & Advertising

  • Media and Publishing

  • Non-Profit and Social Services

  • Professional and Business Services

  • Real Estate

  • Retail

  • Telecommunications

  • Tourism and Hospitality

  • Transportation and Logistics

  • Utilities

How to Update Your Picklist

In your HubSpot account:

  1. Navigate to Settings.

  2. Go to Properties under Data Management.

  3. Search for and select the Industry property.

  4. Click Edit Options.

  5. Add any missing values from the Industries list above.

  6. Click Save.

Step 2: Confirm Your Property is Named “Industry”

RB2B maps industry data specifically to a property labeled exactly Industry (case-sensitive). Double-check the property name:

  • In Settings > Properties, search for the Industry field.

  • Ensure it is named Industry and not something similar like "Industry Type" or "Business Category."

  • If needed, rename your property or create a new one with the correct name.

Step 3: Re-authenticate Your HubSpot Integration

After updating your picklist and confirming the property name, you’ll need to refresh your integration to apply these changes:

  1. Log in to your RB2B dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the HubSpot CRM integration.

  3. Click Disconnect to completely disconnect the integration.

  4. After ensuring the disconnection, click Connect to reinitialize the integration.

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to authorize and finalize the connection.

This step ensures RB2B syncs the updated configuration and begins passing Industry data correctly. If certain RB2B profiles are still not syncing, check if tag-based restrictions, such as a "Hot Leads" tag, are filtering the profiles. Navigate to tag settings within RB2B, review the criteria, and remove or modify any restrictive conditions to ensure seamless syncing.

Error: resource not found (HubSpot contact missing)

Error message

{"status":"error","message":"resource not found","correlationId":"XXXXX"}

What this means

This error usually appears when a contact was previously synced to HubSpot but has since been manually deleted inside HubSpot.

RB2B still has the original HubSpot Contact ID saved. When we try to update that record, HubSpot returns “resource not found” because the contact no longer exists.

Why it happens

  • A contact was deleted directly in HubSpot

  • RB2B still references the old Contact ID

  • Sync attempts fail because the record cannot be located

How to fix it

  1. Disconnect your HubSpot integration in RB2B

  2. Reconnect the integration

  3. Allow a fresh sync to run

Reconnecting forces RB2B to refresh IDs and re-create or re-link contacts using current data.

Tip: If you frequently delete contacts in HubSpot, you may see this again. Reconnecting the integration will always reset and resolve stale IDs.
