Installation Debugger (Beta): Identify and Fix RB2B Script Issues Faster

Updated this week

The Installation Debugger is an experimental tool designed to help you quickly diagnose issues that may prevent the RB2B script from loading or tracking visitors correctly.

It’s available directly on the Script page in your dashboard and provides deeper analysis than the standard script validation check.

What the Installation Debugger does

The debugger scans your live site and checks for common installation and configuration problems, including:

Script installation issues

  • Missing script

  • Incorrect account ID

  • Formatting or syntax errors

  • Copy/paste issues (including curly quotes)

Content Security Policy (CSP) problems

  • CSP rules blocking the RB2B script

  • Restrictions preventing the script from loading or executing

Consent and privacy blockers

  • Cookie consent banners preventing the script from firing

  • Scripts configured to load only after consent is granted

Script loading and timing issues

  • Lazy loading or delayed script activation

  • Tag managers or loaders preventing proper initialization

These checks help identify issues that can silently prevent visitor identification.

How this differs from the standard script validation

The standard validation tool simply confirms whether RB2B has recently detected your script.

The Installation Debugger goes further by actively analyzing your site configuration to identify why the script may not be working, even before visitors are detected.

This makes it especially useful if:

  • You’ve just installed the script

  • You’re not seeing expected visitor activity

  • Your script shows as unverified

  • You suspect your script may be blocked

Important: This tool is experimental

The Installation Debugger is currently in beta.

While it’s effective at detecting common issues, it cannot account for every possible site configuration, consent flow, or tag manager setup.

Always manually confirm that your script is loading correctly by:

  • Viewing your site in your browser

  • Opening Developer Tools

  • Confirming the RB2B script appears in the Network tab

  • Confirming visitors begin appearing in your dashboard

The debugger should be used as a diagnostic aid, not a final source of truth.

Where to find the Installation Debugger

To access the debugger:

  1. Log in to your RB2B dashboard

  2. Navigate to Settings → Script

  3. Open the Installation Debugger

  4. Run the scan

You’ll receive immediate feedback along with guidance on what to fix, if anything is detected.

When you should use the debugger

The debugger is most helpful when:

  • You’ve recently installed the script

  • Visitor identification seems lower than expected

  • Your script shows as unverified

  • You’ve made changes to your site, consent banner, or tag manager

  • You want to proactively confirm your installation is healthy

If everything looks correct

If the debugger reports no issues, your script is installed correctly and ready to track visitors.

If your dashboard is still empty, this usually means RB2B has not yet detected a qualifying visitor. Data will appear automatically once visitors are identified.
