Why isn't tracking script resolving any profiles?
Updated over a week ago

If you've installed our tracking script but aren't seeing the expected data, there are several factors to consider that might explain this situation:

Limited Website Traffic

If your website is experiencing low traffic, this could result in fewer data points being collected. Remember, the volume of data tracked is proportional to your website's visitor traffic.

Geographical Focus

Our tracking script is designed to collect data specifically from US-based users. If a significant portion of your audience is outside the US, this will impact the amount of data captured.

Selective User Identification

Among US-based visitors, our script is calibrated to identify and collect data from approximately 20-30% of users. This selective process ensures high-quality, relevant data but can result in lower overall numbers.

Server-Side Caching Issues

Sometimes, server-side caching might prevent updates, including the activation of new scripts, from being immediately reflected on your website. This can temporarily hinder the tracking script’s functionality.

This issue impacts data collection only during the initial setup, specifically if changes, including the addition of the script, are saved but not visible publicly due to caching problems.

WordPress Plugin Interference

If you're using WordPress, certain plugins like WP Rocket, designed for caching and speeding up websites, might interfere with the script. These plugins can cache your site and delay updates from being published, affecting the script's data collection. They often include the ability to clear your cache to publish changes.

This issue impacts data collection only during the initial setup, specifically if changes, including the addition of the script, are saved but not visible publicly due to caching problems.

Summary

To address these issues, consider reviewing your site’s traffic patterns, ensure your audience aligns with the script’s geographical focus, check for any caching issues, and configure WordPress plugins to allow the tracking script to function correctly.
